DIAA AHMEDIEN

PROFILE

BIOSKETCH
Dr. Diaa Ahmedien is an assitant professor of new media arts and creative technology, as well as an associate editor for Humanities & Social Sciences Communications, a Nature Portfolio journal. Diaa is a multi-talented person who works as a new-media artist, researcher, creator, and educator. He specializes in designing and implementing sophisticated interactive artwork systems that adopt concepts that intersect with varied fields, such as but not limited to human-computer interactions, digital humanities, visual communications, and medical humanities. These intersections illuminate the important mutual role between the arts, sciences, and technology in developing knowledge-driven societies.

Practically, Diaa's research-based practices involve a balance of qualitative and quantitative methodologies to explore convergence technologies as a nexus for concurrent and overlapping computational, physical, and biological systems in our real lives. Within this context, He seeks to discover intersections and augment the equilibrium models between artificial and natural life.
Likewise, the knowledge framework behind his practices demonstrates that the nexuses of the arts, science, and technology play a critical role in making tomorrow's sciences more accessible and democratic. Via such practices, Diaa seeks to foster the impact of interdisciplinary knowledge derived from artistic practice-based research and reinforce its dual functions of integrating the public into complicated scientific inquiries and enriching the visual and visible interface of the contemporary sciences.
